Purrmore Tip: Stay Hydrated!
This is true for humans and cats - stay hydrated on hot summer days! It’s clear to us, but our cats may need encouragement to consume more water.
Provide plenty of fresh and clean water bowls around your home. This is especially true for multi-cat households, where multiple resources enable your cats to avoid territorial conflicts or having to wait in line.
Consider using water fountains. Fountains increase the oxygenation of the water, which improves the water’s taste and can also provide a calming decorative feature to your home. Keep in mind that water fountains require regular cleaning and maintenance.
Add water to your cat’s wet food. Cats naturally get hydrated by hunting and consuming moist fresh food. Mixing just a spoonful or two of water to their food enables your cat to stay hydrated without changing their natural habits.
