Finding Your Cat’s Favorite Toy
Sharing our lives with a cat, we know that each cat is different and has different preferences. This includes toys. How would you know which toy your cat would like the most?
Different types of toys represent different types of hunting activities your cat can simulate. It is good to keep a good variety to keep things interesting. Another way to keep things fresh is to rotate the toys - only leave out a few toys at a time, and change the toys every few days. Your cat will be able to enjoy toys they haven’t seen for a while every few days, keeping them from getting bored of the old toys.
You can find out what your cat’s favorite activities are and buy toys accordingly. The best way to do that is to try out different types of toys, until you find the one that works. To find out more, check out this article about Identifying Prey Preference from OSU’s Indoor Pet Initiative.
